Lockscreen Password Reset Method.

If you have installed TWRP on your device, you can reset your lockscreen password using TWRP. To do this, you need to Boot your device in TWRP Recovery. Then go to Advanced >> File Manager >> data >> system and delete the following 5 files:

gatekeeper.password.key
gatekeeper.pattern.key
locksettings.db
locksettings.db-shm
locksettings.db-wal

After having done, reboot your device, now you can set up a new password.

Nice. And this is why anybody who is serious about security on their device should encrypt it with a pin ;)

If you are worried about performance, all half-decent modern CPU's have hardware AES instructions for this exact reason. Yes, that even includes MTK (in fact the Helio X20 outperforms most Snapdragons in raw AES benchmarks, but as you may know the X20 is a battery hog.... but I digress).
