    Hi,

    indeed, when you "kill" the application using the "Long back key press", you are forcing the application to close.
    the icons you see when you are long pressing the Home key is the Recent application that you had run before.

    if you want to see which of the application is currently running, you can do so:
    Settings->Applications->"Running" (tab)
    if you want to kill one of them, simply click on the app title and click the "Stop" button.

    hope i've helped :)

    I noticed the same issue and I guess that naftul is not right, because if you remove the "killed" app from Recent Panel it'll free some memory (according with the size of removed app).
