Mi 11 Pro: Can't cast to stick 4k

Hello,

I bought a Mi TV Stick 4k hoping that I would be able to cast video and audio to it from my Mi 11 Pro.
The best result I get is a few seconds of black screen when using "wireless display". The phone just says "connecting" forever with the occasional "Casting to Mi Streamingsticka (that's swedish) has ended".
Is there a way to fix this? I tried all sorts of settings for the Mi TV Stick.

Using MIUI 13.0.9 and can't upgrade to 13.0.12 because "Updater isn't respon..." but that's a different problem.

Returning the Xiaomi stick today.
The best I could do was a completely black screen for longer than before after trying all the casting apps, built in casting and lastly Air...cast or something on the TV stick.
I don't understand how something like this can be made to not function at all, when both products are made by the same company.
If anyone can explain that, I'd be interested to know and if someone finds a fix for this in the future I might consider buying the TV stick again. (Can't believe I'm thinking that but there it is).
