Hi everyone,
I bought today a mi box in a mi store in Shanghai. Will it work in Europe? Can I change the settings for Europe or US (like it configuration for a US box version)?
If not, can I flash it with the US rom?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Nunes,

It seems like we are not there yet. Some people had succes, some don't depending on the exact model. You can change pretty easy to English language, but that doesnt give you any EURO or US content. I have not been able to root and/or install google play and such.

Ph, and my model is the Mi Tv box 3 (Android 5.1)

If I could flash it a ROM provided by xiaomi, that would be fine for me. I want US content, not chinese :) Anyone with success on putting the US version in the chinese version?

I am in same situation.
Bought the latest Mi Box 3 (with A53 processor) (MDZ-16-AA).
How to install US ROM? Or at least English UI?
How can I cast using this?

You have a model which is designed for the domestic Chinese market. Model will be either mdz-16-aa or mdz-18-aa and has default Chinese langguage menus.
You can find techniques to change the menu language to English by scouring youtube.
There is no 3rd party roms that can be installed on these devices. If you want western content, sideload most any app you want or use the included Xiaomi market. Good idea to root them and remove the useless Xiaomi apps and advertising.

The rom designed for the mdz-16-ab (International version) is not suitable for flashing to the decidedly disparate hardware found in the China domestic models.

Currently best option is to order Google TV version from US...
Absolutely incorrect. There hasn't been a Google TV device for sale in nearly 3 years. I think you mean to say AndroidTV which is only found on 3-4 very specific set top boxes.
You get a free pass on this egregious error as you are, obviously, a non-native English speaker.

You cant.. and bootloader is locked... enjoy...
Please do us all a favor and quit with your foolish pronouncements on subjects where you are clearly out of your depth.
Either you are totally ignorant or you are just trolling. In any event, people are getting confused by your idiocy.
