Hi, I followed this advice - worked like a charm and no rooting. My box is the enhanced MiBox - not the new quad core. [Edit] This works well. It will still boot into the Chinese app, but the XH-Home launcher can be added as an App. I also noted I can just run XBMC as an app, and ignore the rest if I don't need them. I updated the database and it found all but a few of my movie info from the HDD - and it's persistent with reboots even after disconnecting the drive.
