Installing xiaomi.eu on a locked bootloader, for those who have a problem with obtaining permission to unlock or with the error of unlocking "current account can not unlock this device".

  1. Install by MiFlash (phone in EDL mode) old version of miui dev china with unlocked bootloader ibra_images_6.1.7_20151221.0000.11_5.1_cn_b09dac70a0.tgz
  2. Install universal twrp (works on both lollipop and nougat bootloader) twrp-20180106-1033.img
  3. In TWRP, without rebooting, install the latest version of the system xiaomi.eu_multi_MI4c_8.4.26_v9-7.0.zip and Magisk-v16.4.zip
  4. Restart to the system.
After this we have a locked bootloader but it is working TWRP and you can install updates, but always remember to install Magisk !!!
At the end, you can also replace TWRP with the latest ones twrp-3.2.1-0.img

Does this method works even with custom roms different than MIUI EU?
Yes. I checked on RR Oreo. Only before installing the system in TWRP you need to install FW libra_miui_fw_patch_MI4c_V9.5.1.0.NXKCNFA.zip

Installing Resurrection Remix OS Oreo on a blocked bootloader in MI4C

Hey @slimozis , i tried to flash with XiaoMiFlash but at 13 seconds it gave me "ping target failed".
Tried some research and somebody say that's becasue of the versione "too recent".
http://en.miui.com/thread-354050-1-1.html
Still my installation file for XiaoMiFlash has the same version of the one that should work.

Now i don't have time to do testing.
Did you had similar problems?

I've done it. All this time i was focalized on unlocking Nougat bootloader and didn't try to just go back to old unlocked and make the big jump.
Thanks

This is an English forum write in English.
You have a locked bootloader then you have to install FW in EDL mode, (Emergency Download Mode).
Turn off the device and boot into Fastboot mode. This can be done by pressing Volume Down (-) and Power buttons simultaneously until anything is placed on the screen. Now you need to connect the device with PC. Launch command prompt window from the Minimal fastboot folder and give the following command: fastboot oem edl

Hi there,

I did everything and it is working, thank you. Although I have a question - if I want to downgrade the rom version, do I have to do everything from step 1? Do I have to flash the old china rom + old twrp in order to flash my desired rom afterwards, or can I just flash the lower version straight from my current twrp?

Cheers

No, this is just an instruction how to do it for the first time. After that you have already installed twrp and you can install whatever you want, you just always need to install Magisk, otherwise the system will not get up.
