New MI9 Cepheus Lagging and overheating

I've just installed MIUI 12.5 and the animations, transitions and and app opening take so much more time. Its stuttering and lagging for half second comparing to 12.0 which had no lags or stutters at all and was butter smooth.

EDIT: I have just noticed the phone is also overheating and is molten hot.

I believe Miui 12.5 is also an update to Android 11 for Mi9, so let it some time to settle, maybe reboot . If you are really unhappy, a revert to Miui 12.0 may be a solution, but then you give up on future updates.
