Mi MiX 2S, Mi MIX 3 and the whole Mi 8 series are on a very slow update cycle since the Beta program ended for them several months ago. I wouldn't count on an MIUi 12.5 update any time soon, maybe after it's released as Stable for the rest of more recent devices.

looks like it has been released allready and we just missed it!
heres the download link... you'll find it in the 12.5 stable rom download thread too... but no direct mention of the mix2s

flashed it now, boots until lockscreen, but then gets ah loading animation and sometimes later it reboots to twrp

You are expected to do a clean install.

What date can you see for the security patch? Because I flashed this ROM and I can see May 2019 and, others, December 2020
Maybe a bad installation and I have to flash it again.
