Hello.
I recently gave my mother the Xiaomi Redmi 3, I thought about upgrading her to the Redmi 3 pro but eventually decided not to.
I already ordered the case for the pro version so I decided to keep it and use it with the Redmi 3.
The case quality is exactly the same as the Mi4c one I reviewed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-...-ipaky-neo-t3397528/post67290855#post67290855 or in short - great, doesn't make the phone bulky, protects the screen and helps keep the phone look amazing :)

I highly recommend it, attaching pictures of the case with the Redmi 3:

I'm also using the highly recommended Mocolo screen protector with it, like I have with all my Xiaomi phones, since buying my first Xiaomi device(March 2013, Xiaomi Mi2)

You'll be buying 2pcs, keep one for spare, you never know when you might need it.
(This is the official shop, I have been buying here for years and I recommend it for authenticity reasons)

Thanks for watching. welcome to ask questions :)

I got the case about a week ago, not very impressed.
Comparing to the stock transparent silicone case ipaky is more "slippery", i dropped it immediately after picking it up the first time :)
My hand was just used to the stickiness of the silicone and ipaky just slipped through my fingers. I adjusted my hold on the phone later and it is fine now.
The back is more like plastic then ruber with diamond pattern etched into it.
Plastic frame is a little loose on the sides. About the back speaker grille, it's not that good, very small holes, i have a feeling it dampens the sound a bit. Thinking about cutting it out :)
The case is 75 mm wide and that feels a bit too much for my hand.
I love the above mentioned clear silicone case which is fine for the daily usage but I think it is not so good protection-wise like the ipaky.
Unfortunately, the choice of similar design cases for redmi 3 pro is very limited, that's about the best for protection i could find on aliexpress or ebay.
If someone finds a case that is somewhere in between the soft silicone and ipaky, please let us now :)

i got those on order, as well as some nillikin hard plastic ones. will share once i have them in hand.

I ordered the ipaky case and the phone feels too big now. Also the change of the look is too much, my Redmi 3 pro looks nicer without the big case. I prefer a thin transparent silicone case.

The three cases I ordered off aliexpress. Clear TPU cases don't do much impact protection, and they tend to yellow badly after some time. They cheap as heck, though.

I bought similar Nillkin frosted for my old phone, never used it. It is hard plastic, not rubberized and tends to slip from hand. Also, it does not protect edges.
I'm curious about that slenky, looks like cheap leather imitation.
When you get it, could you please compare with ipaky and share your observations?

The slenky claims top quality, but is anything but. Has really soft TPU material all around including its shiny bumper area. The bumper area has small tolerances, which means i am not able to stash my emergency money in it without having the power button and volume rocker out of alignment. The case has a really small lip, coupled with the soft material, makes one doubt it will protect the phone in the event it falls screen down on flat surfaces, forget asphalt. The size of the back is also over zealously thick, which makes the finger print reader recessed significantly. It will works, mind you. You will need to be deliberate in using the fingerprint reader though.

That said, the faux leather finish on the back does feel nice, though it does look tacky. It offers sufficient grip without being sticky like transparent tpu cases. I just don't think the build quality is anything to brag about.

The UKOO case, however, I really like a lot. It's hard enough that snapping it to the phone needs to be firm and deliberate. It has a good amount of lip, so I'm sure the screen will survive chest level drops face down on concrete. Not going to test that out though, lol! The material is nice and hard, a little harder than goospery cases available for the redmi 3 sans fingerprint reader slot. The volume rocker and power button is a little stiff, unlocking the screen will need a very deliberate push to the power button, which suits me just fine. The finger print reader is also recessed as deep as the slenky, but it's not as bad since you have a larger hole to jam your finger in. The back has the grid pattern thats not on the redmi 3 pro or redmi 3s, which I feel is a shame. Admitably not as grippy as the slenky, but grippy enough for me to use my phone single handed with confidence. Oh, I can stash my emergency money in there with little difficulties. Highly recommended.

I'm not sure if the UKOO is the exact clone of the ipaky or not, but if it's similar, why not. Might even be from the same factory, lol.

I have yet to try the nillikin.

I also got matte glass screen protectors. The redmi 3 and 3s has remarkably good useability outdoors under the sun, if not for the reflection. I'll update once I got around to sticking it on and trying it out in the sun again.

Thank for the pictures.
Slenky - what materijal are those silver shiny borders? Can you post a picture of the phone in it from front side?
Ipaky/ukoo - did you notice any problem with sound? I think my phone sounds a little muffled.

The UKOO has a nice, long lip. You can see how much it hangs over the screen by using my finger as a marker. No, don't have issues with the speakers.

No pics of the slenky. I binned it as it offended me too much. Just take note the lip is about the third of the UKOO, and a lot softer. The shiny bit is not metal nor hard plastic. It's basically tpu material coated with shiny stuff. It's going to look horrible when it peels.

Was hoping you would post a picture od the slenky but you threw it away already
That ukoo is the same as my ipaky. Good protection with that lip but the phone is too wide now and doesn't really fit into my hand.
