No Notification Led In Third Party Apps

I've found that the notification LED doesn't function in third party apps. It works when I'm charging the phone and if I use the stock messaging app. However, if I switch to Textra, Light Manager and Light Flow will not direct the notification LED to work (despite giving all apps the right permissions). Likewise, simply setting the notification LED within Textra doesn't work.

Googling this issue brings up a lot of threads from last year, so I'm wondering if it was a deliberate move by Xiaomi to have people use its own messaging apps.

Can anyone confirm this issue?

Same (similar?) issue here. No notifications light for third party apps (like facebook messenger).

Settings - Notification & Status bar - App Notifications - enable from Notification light button every app you wish to lighting your phone notification led

Good you have this working has been broken on my phone since last year. It happened after MM update, even MI messages.
Light still works for charging and have tried all the settings but nothing works.
