[Q]Cant use my phone as hard disk help please

When i connect my phone, using the htc usb, to my computer it doesnt ask me if i want to use it as hard disk, charge only and all those options. It still charge fine. Im thinking its a file missing. I havent mess with my phone. I have only flash new roms and kernels. Please help me thanks

I noticed this as well. From what I see the rom detects that its connected via usb and by default puts it into charge.

However, if you want to access your files, you just have to swipe the drop down menu and select the notification and change it accordingly.

The bug icon is for USB debugging. If you turned that off, the bug won't show up. The actual USB connection icon doesn't change when it's mounted as storage, either. Actually, I don't remember if it used to change in Froyo, but I don't remember it changing before.

Also, I haven't used CM in a long while, but I don't think CM7 has the pop-up anymore, either. I don't really consider it an inconvenience, though, but I also don't usually mount my phone as storage. I just use the wifi PC sync whenever I can. So much more convenient when you don't want to find your USB cable.

I change my defult to mount and i still dont get anything. I dont get nothing on my computer's. Does any one have a clue of what might be happening?

i have the same problem. i use easy tether and that works fine. my computer even detecs the sd card when i restore to previous miui version but when i use 1.4.1 it doesnt work. any help would be appreciated.

You should be able to unmount your SD card using your recovery image (clockwork mod recovery, for example). To boot into recovery, hold the volume down button while the phone is rebooting and then select "recovery" using the volume and power buttons.

From recovery, (at least in CWM), you can mount your SD card to your computer by selecting: mounts and storage/mount USB mass storage. From there, you might try re-formatting your SD, which will wipe all data, so be sure to back everything up, or perhaps just try a different, more recent ROM.

I have the exact same issue here. This feature worked great I'd past versions of miui. But with 1.4.1 I can't mount my SD card at all. I have mount as SD selected as the default in the settings. I also have "ask me when USB connect" or whatever checked off and still nothing pops up. I also noticed that even if I have USB debugging turned off, it still turns on no matter what.. I hope to find a solution soon because I use my SD card to transfer music at least a few times every day.
