Hello again

A friend of mine has a Redmi 3 running global ROM that has that problem where he doesn't get calls if the phone is locked(in hibernation state), would a xiaomo.eu ROM fix that problem?

He is really sad about it, the phone is practically unusable ...

If he is on a stable version I would recommend going to the latest official global beta from Xiaomi. Earlier versions had problems with too agressive power management (also with my girlfriends Redmi 3). He could also try to turn all power saving modes and put exceptions for the caller app.

Don't unlock the phone if you don't want to void the warranty. If all this doesn't work, you could try either to install LineageOS (as it is not based on Xiaomi software, but requires the bootloader to be unlocked), or just return it to the shop and demand a refund as it has proven to be useless as a phone.
