I have a POCO F3 and I know that it's normal for the phones to get a bit hotter while they are charging. I noticed that my phone while charging can get a temperature of 40º celcius, then temperature comes down. When it's not charging, it's usually between 20-25º celcius. Is this normal?

Hi,

By the experience on 2 Note Pro: 5 and 7, it's normal.

It depends on the charger power.

1A Fresh
2A Warm
3A Hot QC3/4

For them, the charging power decrease to 700ma if too hot.
If the device was cool before plug may stay to 30/35, if in use would even rise to 42°

QC here is the Xiaomi's default and a dual UGreen.

Using the device while charging may increase the temp as well.

Check GSam Battery app if not already.

By the way, when it's not charging the temp is usually between 22-30º celsius

It should appear on the small text printed on the charger itself.

With GSam you can easily monitorice Temp and Charge power, even max charger power.

In the output it says: 5.0v=3.0A/; 15w= 3.OA; 27W/12.0V= 2.25A; 27.0W/20.0=1.35A; 27.0W/11.0V= 3.OA; Max 33W
Input: 100-240V- 50/60Hz, 0.7A

So that charging temperature is normal, right?

Yes,

From my experience it's normal.

From that info the charger seems QC4 or higher (Xiaomi's).

Mine are QC3 up to 18w, yours is 33.

Despite that, check for other answers for users with your exact model.

You can check the V/A from GSam and see the power fluctuation depending on the temperature.

For situations where you have time you may take a slower charger, will be fresh and kept the bat for longer.

Quick charge decrease lifespan of batteries as well as high temperature.

Decreases the lifespan on the long run, right? I've read after 2 years or something

Yes,

Companies says 2 years or 800 cycles.

It may depend on the usage.

You would combine Fast and Slow chargers to maintain it healthy.

How do I get a slow charger? I just don't know if it's safe to use an unofficial charger for this phone...By the way, I never leave my phone to charge overnight. I always leave it to charge in the morning when I arrive at work and usually the battery is between 15-20%.

An older charger is slow now.

1 or 2 Amperes work fine.

The info related is to:

Charge between 20-25/80%
Avoid the 0% (This when possible)
Charge till 100% when needed. (100% counts as a cycle and since currently everything is now programed with a fixed lifespan, it will decrease it)

Better charge more often than fully.

Despite current cells does not have memory effect the Voltage may decrease on lows and this affects them.

Check "Battery Alarm/Thief" app, it will alert you at a choosen percentage to plug /unplug.

But where can I buy an older charger? Are those chargers available in stores? I'm from Portugal and I don't know if they sell them anymore...

If you can't find from an older model, you may find in Carrefour or similar.

MediaMarkt, PcComponentes maybe.

You may find on Amazon but you'll need to find a known trade and read the opinions or if in Ali Xpress, spend more time reading to find out a reliable one.

Just for the record:

I've said old charger since currently QC3 and equivalents are the most common on high battery capacity.

Despite that, 2A or 2.4A chargers are still available.
1A would be too slow but it depends on the situation.

Even on Lidl you can find dual chargers at 2A.
Took 1 of them years ago.

(Totally forgot, just picked up)

Thanks. But a charger like those won't do anything bad to my phone's battery?

Your default's oscillate the Volts/Amperes.

Those others are fixed and limited in V/A in comparison.
Just that.
The only thing is to choose a charger good enough to not be burned after 2 charges.

Here, both phone charge in QC3, 1A, 2A or 2.4A during the week, depending on the place/moment since 2 and 3 years now.

The bats works fine on both.

Wait for other answers if still unsure.

PS:
If allowed, you may add the Model POCO F3 to the tile for those with the same device to check.

This is from Android but is hidden by MIUI.

You can access using "Quick Shortcut Maker",then search for "Battery info" and save it as Favorite.

The new one is GSam

Ok, found it. But i've read online that if you dial *#*#6485#*#* you can check what % of the battery life span you've already used. However, when I use that code it displays an error
