Tool for download mode

Im a former user of galaxy s2.
there, i had the recovery for flashing zip roms & updates,
same as i have for the xiaomi the updater app or recovery.
when i had something wrong with my s2, i had download mode & Odin..
what is the equivalent app for that with the mi2 and what are its capabilities?

as far as i can see so far that would be the xiaomi brush tool and wire brush package. i am trying to confirm the latest version of the tool and if it works for the Mi2.
