Unable to force connect device via wifi without internet in miui 14

In Miui 13, i used to be abe to direct connect (ad-hoc) to my device via wifi without internet. I will be prompt to Stay Connected, acknowledging that it has no access to internet. Below is the prompt.
But now in Miui 14, it will not prompt me this message and I am unable to access my device via wifi even thou it is connected.
Is this a bug? How to gain the prompting message again? Thank you.

Same issue here, my phone keeps disconnecting without showing me the prompt.
On my older Mi9 running MIUI 13 it works as expected.

Is there a workaround to force it to stay connected to the wifi without access to internet?

Somemore my app suddenly works again few months ago.
Guess it was android 13 migration period.
App Dev needs to do some updates on their app to be compatible with android 13.
