Update From Miui7 To Miui8 Question

I'm using the developer version but it doesn't get updated anymore so i want to upgrade to the 8
do i lose all my data in doing so or i can safely flash the new one and it updates itself like a normal update?
i don't want to reset my phone if possible

Best is to reset, but you can do a miui backup that you ll restore. Best is to miflash global stable rom miui 8 then restore your backup from a pc.
