New Xiaomi Mi Account Login Network Error

Hey I'm getting Network Error every time I try to login.
I have this issue now for past 2 days.... can't login by phone. (which I need to apply themes etc.) it keeps giving: Network error.
On pc no problem but no help since I need to be able to login on my phone.
Any fix?

What is your device?
Which MIUI version is installed (Settings -> About phone)?
Did this work 2 days before?
Did you change anything 2 days back (like updating the ROM or installing it from scratch or getting a new SIM card etc.)?

I have a Coolpad F1 8297w and downloaded the MIUI ROM from http://en.miui.com/download-208.html
(second one) the 4.6.28 (V5) version.
I flashed the ROM with cmw. Also tried previous version 4.6.21 and same issue.
I don't have a sim card in the phone since I need to get a micro sim.
I did work on my previous phone ZTE v976 with the MIUI ROM flashed to it. I don't know why I'm having this issue now.
