You can use SwiftBackup. Most apps will just work as if nothing happened after restoring. Of course, creating widgets again or reconnection for bank accounts will be necessary, but that's the cost of security. After all, it's much less work than you imagine and most of the time it's worth it ;)

Hi, I have the same problem with messenger. Sometimes only thing which shows new messages which came is killing an app and enabling again. That's extremely frustrating! I'm on the latest weekly on Mi Mix 4 and did a completely fresh install not so long ago. Does anybody have a clue what to do...

I had the same problem. Solution proposed by @Igor (reinstalling everything starting from China ROM) helps in my case. Thanks a lot!
