Seriously? eSIM functionality is a hardware feature. There's no point in updating the software, even less if it is from a completely different phone model? In my opinion: NO!

I assume that only very few of the ever increasing number of global newcomers are really aware of this statement of Igor Eisberg. This general policy should be part of the FAQ, as probably every newcomer with a global device will ask exactly the same questions about the eSIM basebands here...

The thread mentioned asked about the dual eSIM support of the Global Houji, i.e. two active eSIMs at the same time (the answer is no, btw). There is of course no question that the global Xiaomi 14 supports eSIM in principle.

Thanks for that, I'll try to test them too. Is there a general rule for when a ROM is called "global", in order that their modemfirmware.img should fit? Or do we have to test different ROMs one by one, by try and error? :emoji_thinking:

The solution described should not related to SIM, but to eSIM only, which should be amended accordingly? Some details regarding the regions differences can be found here, see "Bonus:" below.
