Call recording question

Is the call recording 2-way or 1-way? Do I hear the voice of me and my partner or only my voice? I only hear my voice with my Desire GSM S-Off MIUI 1.10.21 and I don't know why anyone want to record his own voice in a call?

Why is the call recording only 1-way? I can't find any sense for it? 2-way recording on the other hand would be awesome! using Desire
