It has to do with the data encryption.. In fasboot mode, before you flash twrp, type following: fastboot format userdata fastboot format cache Please keep in mind that using format userdata, it will remove everything out of your phone.

After an OS update, i always reset the device to factory default.. Mostly, all problems solved after that. But dont forget to backup your data though ;).

You need to unlock the bootloader.. Press Power button + Volume down and wait till the fastboot mode appear (mi bunny). Then start mi unlock tool. Register here if you have not done it yet: http://en.miui.com/unlock/

You have to unlocked the phone again! Enter fastboot mode, start Mi unlock tool, and unlock the device :)
