    Check out this site. http://roms.miui.us/ and then filter by HTC. you will see for the inc 2 latest is 1.12.9. there were problems on the Inc and Inc2, that's why they are on a previous version than the other phones.

    I have build 1.12.9 on my Droid Inc. and i have the compass app. It might be phone specific? I'm not 100% sure about this.

    yes MIUI camera does have zoom on it. I just confirmed it on MIUI rom (US) v1.12.9 running on a Droid Inc (VZW).

    Sometimes I get an 'unable to connect to network error' even if Wi-Fi/3G are on. Having a URL def will help.
