This overheating while recording in 4K is not just a Xiaomi problem, a lot of the SD888 phones have or had this issue. I would get an overheat message on my OnePlus 9 as well but I think it's resolved after many many software updates.

How I did it was downloaded the magisk.apk and renamed it to magisk.zip and flashed it using twrp. it's in the magisk doc that the APK can be changed to .ZIP for TWRP flashing.

Just flashed with TWRP, was stuck at MIUI screen for a long while. Not sure if it was coincidence but as soon as I plugged my usb cable my lock screen showed up.

Interesting, mine is staying 120Hz but I'll try rebooting the phone and see what happens. I also did the mod for 90Hz and youtube is staying 90Hz as well.

How I got it to work correctly was opening up Apps and clearing the cache/data for Battery and Performance. After Youtube was 120Hz.

Ok I think it's just Titanium Backup being garbage, switched to Swift and was able to grab my files.

For us that was stuck at fastboot we ended up getting EDL services so they can flash us back to an official rom.
