Yeah thats the culprit, when doing it not the first time your are skipping the manual a bit :D

Did thes ethings several times before - But yes today I have the same issue. I got the device in list, if its fully booted in OS. But once rebooted to fastboot its not listed anymore. Any hint? //Update: I guess we are just stupid due to the heat :D "ADB devices" when in OS and USB Debuging...
