It's an issue with the recovery. You're most likely on twrp 3.5.0, right? You can eithe use 3.4.0 or the one I use, SHRP 2.2 (2.3.2 doesn't boot into recovery; also shrp is no longer maintained for our device so if anything breaks in the future, use twrp 3.4.0). The other way to get around this...

Change display width in developer settings to 449 then the text size in Settings > Display to medium. This will make the control center have too much space between tiles, but at least the rest of the phone looks fine.

Yes, the scaling seems to be on the larger side. Not a big fan of it, but display scaling S is too big while XS is too small. I might change the ppi in the dev settings unless they breaks something. Atm my priority is getting magisk running though.
