why does not a fastboot EU rom exist?
The question is why? I find that flashing with twrp is much easy and more intuitive than mi flash (you can accidentally re-lock your bootloader)- phunhu2016

Can I downgrade to the stable ROM again or brick?
Just flash MIUI 9 as normal. The new anti rollback doesn't apply for mi 8 yet- phunhu2016

Mi 8 loss of battery over night
First go to twrp wipe davik/cache. Then go to permission, turn off autostart permission for most apps. Hope it helps- phunhu2016
