Windows will never recognize ext type partition, that's why you have to use Ubuntu. Have you made a ext2, 3 or 4 partition? Btw... your phone's explorer won't show you that partiotion. And one more thing. !!! First create the FAT partition and afterwards the ext partition, not the other way...
