Thanks for that helpful reply. I already had twrp installed before, but due to a ROM update it got removed. Used as mentioned the latest version for venus - executed fast boot command (as written in the instructions). How long should it take to reboot into twrp recovery? since it does not...

Tried to flash TWRP sticking to installation advice in the first post and using the most recent twrp version for mi 11, after executing fastboot boot twrp.img and rebooting the phone the TWRP isn't on the device - still the chinese recovery. Any idea why?

Just connect via fastboot and run fastboot flash <xiaomi.eu....>.zip right? MI11
