You can go for xiaomi.eu ROM and they have updates for it after couple of days from the official xiaomi update.

I have the same issue on HOS2... And if I look at the battery consumption, it seems that the Android System is too hungry compared to the HyperOS1 (on Andorid14). But Xiaomi has the same issue on each major update, very poor implementation at the beginning.
