Guys, unfortunatelly I have to wait several more weeks until I unlock my bootloader. Monthly limit exceeded. On MIUI site download link for redmi 5 plus shows Android 8.1 and I don't dare to install it because of possible ARD. Is it mistake or it is really 8.1?

I also didn't understand if I brick the device, can I flash it with EDL cable ot it is dead? The thread on en.miui.com is dificult to understand. Why would I need permission for flashing with EDL cable?

I had same bootloop issue with my mi4. I noticed a red error line in the process of flashing the ROM, something connected to /system partition. Then from TWRP I executed repair filesystem on /system and it is OK now. Sent from my MI 4LTE using Tapatalk
