Sorry for my late reply, OTAs are available only since MIUI 9 on xiaomi.eu, therefore manual download and update is necessary! I'm running weekly 7.11.9 as of now :)

I remember that a new entry ("System apps updater" I think) appeared in settings app after 8.5.3.0, though when I was on xiaomi.eu 8.5.4.0 tapping on it wouldn't do anything. Is it the same for you?

While waiting for MIUI 9 stable I'd like to revert back to 8.5.5.0: does anybody know what android security patch is supplied? Is it safe from both Blueborne and KRACK exploits? The last one I've used was 8.5.4.0 back in August.

@ingbrzy I can confirm that notification and led issue is still present on Mi 5c, it makes the device pretty much unusable under certain circumstances when using many messaging apps. I'll revert back to a previous version. Are there any news about a fix?

Yep I think you're absolutely right. Many guys on official Global have the same issue and the bug is under discussion by Xiaomi itself since few days back (http://en.miui.com/thread-981643-1-1.html). For anybody bothered by the issue, stay a bit more on a build where notifications are working...

Btw if anybody is interested, it appears we've reached enough reports regarding the Telegram notification issue: since yesterday morning, it is officially under discussion by Xiaomi (http://en.miui.com/thread-981643-1-1.html). Let's cross our fingers and hope for a fix in the next release!

It is a known issue that has to be fixed by Xiaomi itself, as it affects many different messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, etc... If you can, please confirm the bug here by clicking on the orange "confirm button" after login...

The issue was fixed in a reuploaded version of 7.11.2 (https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/7-11-2.42127/#post-393154), you should check the updater app or manually download and flash the ROM using TWRP.

Have you tried cleaning app data? Otherwise it might something related to your current language, does it crash if system language is set to english US? Sometimes Xiaomi changes a bunch of language related tags in the respective xml files when updates are released, therefore the culprit could be...
