Yes true in the guide there are a few redundant steps. Basically all you need is to flash the old 6.1.7 rom via emergency mode and that unlocks your bootloader. From there you can easily then upgrade to whatever and flash at will :)

You can unlock the bootloader by flashing an older official china developer fastboot rom but you have to do it in emergency mode with miflash tool. Then you can flash whatever you want once it's unlocked, just not another official rom this will lock it again! Let me know if this is what you wish...

You mean MM? Yes you have merged partitions then but it's still possible that you will have to rebuild them anyway. If you got an arguments error (not error 7 system blabla) when installing 7.1.5.0 then just delete those lines of code in updater-script.

@Pedro Tavares You won't be able to install 7.1.5.0 on old KK partitions because if you check system folder of 7.1.5.0 you will see it's around 700mb and old KK system partition is 628mb I think, so not enough space for it. For oversized .eu 7.1.5.0 KK, flash any official global stable MM...

My best guess would be your phone is actually a different model than his, there are so many versions and combinations. There is mi4 2gb ram / 16gb space, 2gb/32gb, 3gb/16gb, 3gb/32gb, then WCDMA / LTE-CU / LTE-CT depending for which market they were made, then supposedly there's one 3gb ram...

@zegio Do a complete advanced wipe if you can. Then make sure the global KK image has this line "flash partition..." before "flash tz..." in the flash_all.bat file: fastboot %* flash partition %~dp0images\gpt_both0.bin fastboot %* flash tz %~dp0images\tz.mbn This will rebuild your partitions...

Why doesn't anyone mention exactly what model they have? Wouldn't some deduction be helpful here :) For example wasn't there mention of 2gb LTE-CU models having some sort of motherboard issue.. different roms can possibly just escalate things then.

Is it possible that it has something to do with one of the cores being shutdown in MM? KK has all 4 cores running even in balanced mode or rather 2 are on standby whereas in MM only one is on standby. Maybe the reboots are result of poor cpu optimization.

Install diskinfo app after flashing official rom to see if your partitions are good. In advanced options of diskinfo check more options so it shows stuff like unmounted partitions etc. There should only be one system partition and should be about 1.2gb if they were merged correctly (otherwise it...

Hey, I get a similar problem when trying to install stable 7.1.5.0 (kitkat). But only that version, while 7.1.3.0 installs fine. I also compared both updater scripts and found only little differences that shouldn't affect installation. Tried using 7.1.3.0 script with 7.1.5.0 and still got error...
