It's unfortunate you may have a bad flash. Never have experienced a problem with fingerprint reader in my Max 2 ever since initial version of miui 9 weekly.
If you want to keep abreast with updates, better watch first the miui.com site. The moment you see a new version of Chinese developer ROM, you can be sure that the corresponding xiaomi.eu ROM for your device will be created not long after.
I think you should not flash the weekly ROM over the stable one. Weekly roms are miui 9 whereas the stables are miui 8. Incompatible roms. You should forget the stable ROM and move over to the weekly ROM for good.
If I were you I would not flash a 5x ROM to a1 device. While it may appear that the two are similar, they are not identical. Somebody in the miui forum screwed bigly.
i think i was not clear enough. out of the box, the os of my max 2 is already 7.1.1 and still is and with version miui 8.5.6.0. i only did update from miui 8 to miui 9.
still within the hour after updating my max 2. so far no abnormal happenings, everything is smooth. thanks.
no problem waiting for the next update in october yet. by that time the security update will be september already.
Pleasantly surprised that my Max 2 running beta 7.9.14 ROM is NOT vulnerable to the Blueborne Attack vector. Looks like the vulnerability has been eliminated, at least in my case.
If I am with xiaomi.eu ROM, why should I be interested in the original MIUI equivalent ROM? Should I jump from EU to MIUI and back as I please? Or do you just want EU to know that such MIUI ROM is already hatched?
