The thing I think about these updates is , yes it would be nice , but it won't change anyone's life - nobody is going to get a bigger penis (or boobs ) and become more desirable . But it seems like a matter of life or death for some.

I don't wish to offend anyone , but as someone who is pretty much technologically illiterate, incompetent and inexperienced - even I have worked out that Xiaomi don't really go for Android base updates , and it's even more über-unlikely with RN2 and it's mtk soc . So why do posters keep asking...

I have my notification light switched on in messaging app settings as in yo u r screen shot , and it never works and I don't think it has since I updated to miui 8 . Whatsapp and gmail are ok , though . Can anyone suggest what else I can do ? Thanks .

It depends if your provider operates on band 20 , and if your phone has that frequency eg Redmi Note 2 doesn't have band 20 , so in UK if you're with O2 , with a 4g contract , you're out of luck because band 20 is O2's only 4g frequency.

Don't know why there is so much preoccupation with the three fingered screenshot - there's the toggle in the notification shade as it is , and if a 3 finger is attempted , it tends to pull the shade down anyway . Is it the new calculator app ?

I see the claim that miui 9 is to be based on android N . I assume that just means 9 will incorporate certain features of N , not that devices will have an android update .

Out of curiosity - the ' do you like this miui ' vote - is there an analysis by device ? It might be interesting/useful to see which devices fare well, or badly , with any given release .

This probably applies to previous versions (RN2)...whether a toggle is turned on or off , the notification screen retracts i.e. if I drag the shade down to turn on wifi , I have to drag it down again to turn on/off another function , then again for another function . Why can't it stay down just...
