Internation/Global version has LTE band 20, not all. Band 20 model has identical body with Redmi Note 4x, need to by different screen protectors and cases for that.

Yes, chinese or global rom does not matter, but need to be developer version. Google instructions, need to login Mi account, bound device etc...

You need developer rom version for unlocking.

To be more confusing, global version of RN4 is same size as Redmi Note 4x, so you need to buy RN4x cases and screen protectors.

Usually default progs are very basic, if you wan't advanced features just install other app from Play Store and make it default.

Better put official Xiaomi rom in with MiFlash if you are selling it and be sure to Sign out your Mi account. Original recovery + Xiaomi.eu rom means you can't install updates.

Login phone Mi account with old user and go to Settings/Mi account and press Sign out. Then reboot and add your own account.

Those kind of features are easy to add in source code and then compile to rom, but very hard to modify on top of ready rom, though it makes no sense.
