    6.12.22 On Mi5

Thanks Vladimir, just two points: 1) I agree, installing the dev version may be needed for unlocking bootloader, but might not be absolutely necessary, especially if the vendor ROM that came in your phone is based on a dev version. My phone came with a vendor ROM, seemingly based on xiaomi.eu...

    China V8.1.6.0 Stable Out

The changelog only mentions a fix for a 3G problem with chinese carriers, nothing more. Some commenters on the forum mentioned that it's still Marshmallow. Ah well, if it includes the December security patches, it'll do for now.

    6.12.22 On Mi5

Hi there, basically you'd want to do the following steps: PRERREQUISITES: - Have the fastboot and ADB tools installed and running (you can get them easily installing the Android SDK, available here: https://developer.android.com/studio/index.html ; you just need the command line tools, not the...

    Xiaomi.eu 8.1.3.0 Stable

Yeah, thanks for the heads up, it's up on en.miui.com. The changelog only mentions a fix for some 3G problems on chinese carriers, and nothing else. No Nougat on stable yet, still Marshmallow with 8.1.6.0. I was hoping for more changes or fixes with this new stable...

How To Proceed, Redmi 3s Problems...

Glad you could make it work! If you unlocked your bootloader, installing TWRP from fastboot is trivial. Just ask if you need guidance.

How To Proceed, Redmi 3s Problems...

Just as an opinion: If it is really so (that the flashing software expects a dummy.bin when the package actually has a dummy.img file), that's a really sloppy mistake from Xiaomi...

How To Proceed, Redmi 3s Problems...

I've never done an EDL flash myself, but I recall reading about this as a somewhat common problem (I remember reading that the file included in the package is actually named dummy.img instead)... ... Found it: http://en.miui.com/thread-422057-1-1.html Proceed with caution. As I said, I have...

How To Proceed, Redmi 3s Problems...

Hi, are you trying to flash a fastboot ROM using MiFlash? I think you need an unlocked bootloader for that... I think you need to use a deep flash cable and EDL mode in your situation. Best regards,

Mi5 Won't Start After Flash. (fb, Rc, Edl Works.)

Hi, before your phone stopped working, what ROM were you using? You had an unlocked bootloader, I presume... What ROMs did you try afterwards?

Downgrade From Miui 8.1 To Miui 7.5.

Hi, not sure if I understand correctly: now your phone reboots to recovery, but from there, can you boot into Android system at all? I only ask because you mention trying to update from updater app (which is only accessible from Android)...

    Unlock Bootloader??

Hi there, Yes, in order to install a ROM with dutch language support (such as xiaomi.eu -- not sure if Global MIUI Roms have dutch support) your bootloader needs to be unlocked.

    Xiaomi.eu 8.1.3.0 Stable

If you haven't installed a third party launcher app (like Nova Launcher, Apex Launcher, etc.) then you are using the stock MIUI launcher. I use Nova Launcher, and when it is set as default, I can't change the background wallpaper image with the Themes app, but I can if I temporarily change the...

    Xiaomi.eu 8.1.3.0 Stable

@Michael89, are you using the default MIUI launcher, or an alternative one? For me, the themes app works only if the MIUI launcher is the default.

    Stable 8.1.4.0 Is Uploaded

I don't know if it's really a problem or rather a strange quirk, because it doesn't seem to have any negative effect... ROM installs and works just fine. Nevertheless, it's a bit unsettling to see an error in the flashing process...

    Mi 5 Stable

Basically, it'll come shortly after a new MIUI China Stable version gets released. Last released version is 8.1.3.0, so that's also the latest xiaomi.eu stable released.

I too noticed this error when flashing 8.1.2.0 (probably was there on 8.1.1.0 too, just didn't notice). I unlocked my bootloader personally, using the official method (authorized MI account and MiFlashUnlock tool).
