This has been repeated so many times that this forum is getting to be a real bore. Also, it is perfectly stated at the beginning of each thread, stable and weekly. The update is done via Recovery. That's why you can't find the scripts you are looking for.

If you haven't done it yet, you should first install the TWRP Recovery for your model ("sweet" I guess). You can download it here.

Can you try this? Please remove pin, gesture, fingerprint and face protection. Restart to recovery mode and check if your data is decrypted. If decryption is successful, please reboot into system and set a pin. Restart again to recovery mode and check if the issue is gone.

This Twrp_3.6.2.1B-R3 is a stable release. If you want, can install Twrp_3.6.2.1C. Although it includes some changes, functionally they are equivalent. The latter allows you to easily change the logo if you wish.

Maybe you should reset the launcher app by deleting its data and stopping it.
