it depends on the kernel you are using... miui is using partial base of cm9 and most custom kernel already remove MMC_CAP_ERASE long time ago

full wipe is the safest procedure... the base doesnt matter at all

Well im not spreading a certain kernel but i use siyah kernel (extweaks and nstool) there are lots of kernel (see xda) pick the one you need... I do some research so i use custom kernel parameter values.. it gives me this :D PS: manageable kernel that what you need...

Well I have experienced this bugs.. it was caused by changing the font of a theme... very random.. but i did reflash my rom and it works well.. try reflash you rom (back up totally first) and you should use a frequent backup!
