Thanks Wajk for all your hard work. I have decided to shop around for other ROMs and am trying out CM. Looks uglier and the battery life is a bit worse than WIUI, but it is nice to have an informative status bar and notifications again.

I am using Nova. You can't set it as default using Nova Settings. You have to use MIUI Settings -> Installed Apps ->Default Apps

More responsive. I have disabled all of the animations (AFAIK). v6 is still much slower than v5 when switching between applications, but 4.9.29 is better in this regard.

4.9.29 seems much quicker than 4.9.26. I'm sure it's all in my head but thanks!

People have been saying that the new MIUI is coming for over six months. I'm not holding my breath. I would quite like to see device encryption, Bluetooth LE, better memory management and of course all of the myriad bug fixes. But my main concern is that MIUI v5 just gets more and more bloated...

Yes I think that my mi2 is my first and last xiaomi device. None of the newer devices are very interesting and the software support is awful.

Make sure to backup. I lost all my theme settings when upgrading to this release.
