Has anyone got to use TDB without experiencing random reboots or other bugs?

Mi2S - extending size of storage partition

Can you link it to me, please? I already repartitioned my phone to increase userdata size following this guide, so I was going to merge partitions this way, manually. I'd really like to enable TDB or to remove system1 completely.

    [RECOVERY][TWRP] TWRP 2.7.0.0 / 2.8.2.0 for mi2(s) supports TDB

Yes, I was talking about the recovery for merged partitions. It is downloadable from official Chinese MIUI forum, so I thought TWRP was in Chinese. Anyway, Since all aries ROMs seems to be working better with unmerged partitions by default, as it is the layout we buy our Mi2S with, I'll stick...

[rom]-- Smiui Rom -- Ultimate Custom Rom --[multilang,stable/weekly]

Flashing a custom recovery with fastboot won't change anything. The recovery still won't boot. Anyway, M1cha said it is sufficient to give this command with fastboot: "fastboot oem unlock". So no need to flash another bootloader, including an older version of Xiaomi's one. I still haven't tested...

[rom Lollipop] Mokee 5.1.1 (magic Fun Rom) For Normal And Merged Partitions - Double Tap To Wake

Hi everyone! Just a quick question, as there's so much freedom of choice I can't seem to decide. Would you recommend me AOSP, CM or Mokee, and why?

    [rom] Ivan's Aosp Lollipop 5.1

Sorry to bother you again, but I've got a couple doubts. First of all, with unmerged partitions will I be able to install or move apps to Storage? And access Userdata partition without root explorer? Then, would you suggest me to install CM or AOSP?

    [rom] Ivan's Aosp Lollipop 5.1

Thanks for the answer! I was more concerned that might be some isolated parts which failed to translate, like it happens in MIUI. Actually, that isn't even quite a problem, as long as they are little, as I'm used to MIUI. As for the unmerged partitions, does that mean I can't use those ROMs if I...

Mi2S - extending size of storage partition

Hi! I'm thinking about installing Ivan's 5.1.1 AOSP and a couple questions came to my mind: can I remove system1? I mean, not giving it the minimum size possible, but removing it completely (which will cause partition numbers to change). What about cache? Is it really used by Play Store to...

    [rom] Ivan's Aosp Lollipop 5.1

Hi! I can't seems to get a little thing here: to flash AOSP in my Mi2S, do I need to merge data and storage partitions, or will it work with default Xiaomi layout too? Edit: as I'm quite sure I will have to unify the partitions, I've got a couple further questions. Will the unified partition...

[rom]-- Smiui Rom -- Ultimate Custom Rom --[multilang,stable/weekly]

Then it's MIUI's fault. I'm sorry, I liked its design, even if it was mostly copied from iOS, but I can't cope with this and with multitasking being lost. I'll try to install L AOSP. Thanks for your work, I really loved sMIUI.

[dev] Opensource (multiboot) Bootloader: Efidroid (formerly Grub4android)

Not only you are working on a lot of titanic projects, you even find the time and patience to babysit us with our problems. I have no words to thank you, Michael. I'll try ASAP and let you know if it worked.

[rom]-- Smiui Rom -- Ultimate Custom Rom --[multilang,stable/weekly]

I have to sadly abandon sMIUI for a few reasons. My question is: can I go from sMIUI to, for example, stock MIUI with default MiRecovery without wiping data? (I want to keep all my apps and saved games) If anyone's interested, the reasons are three: As I reported before, sMIUI replace that...

[dev] Opensource (multiboot) Bootloader: Efidroid (formerly Grub4android)

Thanks for the clarification and for sharing with us all this precious informations! Actually, I did not mean the fact any custom bootloader gets overwriten with every boot. That is old story. With latest versions of MIUI 6, Xiaomi has apparently modified the bootloader so that any custom...

[dev] Opensource (multiboot) Bootloader: Efidroid (formerly Grub4android)

You, sir, are a gift from the sky. The thought of having GRUB on my Mi2S is a breath of oxygen, and the only thing that keeps me from inserting the phone into a Tokamak. As if having my recovery overwriten with that joke of MiRecovery with every boot wasn't bad enough, Xiaomi decided to keep me...

[rom]-- Smiui Rom -- Ultimate Custom Rom --[multilang,stable/weekly]

I have a problem with latest Aries ROM: I used sMIUI 5.6.19 without problem for a while, then the notification area just wouldn't be pulled down, it got stuck shaded as it normally is. I had to reboot, but as soon as my phone turned on, I got this message: it asks me to enter some credentials of...

I don't know what Transfer should do, because it always crashed on me immediately as I opened it. Since this last update (5.4.17), also DualBootSwitch does.

[rom]-- Smiui Rom -- Ultimate Custom Rom --[multilang,stable/weekly]

In case you decide to try sMIUI, this is the basic procedure to flash any ROM, not just this: Download the essential adb and fastboot tools from here. Open the installer and answer yes to the first and third questions (software and drivers). Decide for the second, if you want to install it...

[rom]-- Smiui Rom -- Ultimate Custom Rom --[multilang,stable/weekly]

This is a different ROM afaik, it is not considerable as an update of the MIUI you have installed. That is the reason why it gives you those errors. Believe me, it is easier done than said anyway, and you do not do that just to install sMIUI, having a recovery worthy of being called so is...
