You have to root your phone to access build.prop. After you root your phone I recommend you install Build.prop Editor from the Play Store for easy editing of that file. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.apps.build.prop.editor&hl=en

Solved the problem by flashing the original stock boot.img and then installing Magisk v14 over it. Later I used the app (Magisk Manager) to update to v15.2. Strangely, installing v15.2 first would not work.

You can try clean installing the latest Xiaomi.eu beta. I used to have really horrible SOT on my RMN4MTK, but now it's arround 5-6 hours on a two day usage. Try it, you can't get worse than that.

Unfortunately, I doubt that they will put any work into the Mediatek version. We all just made a mistake purchasing the MTK version of the device, probably not knowing the way Xiaomi treats their MTK customers. It's like we payed way less than those who bought SD or something, which is a...
