It might not be a security measure issue. Mine worked, then in 14.0.4 didn't work, not even after factory reset. Updates to 14.0.6, it's working again.

I didn't downgrade. I only install stable versions. I upgraded from 14.0.4 to 14.0.6. I believe a downgrade will require you to do a full format.

Turns out for me it wasn't failing integrity. I updated to 14.0.6, and it worked again.

I did pass Safetynet test. But not Strong Integrity. I am not sure what it means, but i think it's what causes the problem with the banking. I might be wrong, so I will read here to learn. EDIT: I tested it now, and it is now working. I installed 14.0.6, and it works. Even though it fails...

I have no idea. Banking used to work, but now doesn't. It's not a train smash though

Mine does the same. Safetynet isn't used anymore, you must do a Play Integrity test. Mine fails strong integrity, so no payments. This used to work, I think it's a Google Play system update that results in this.

I disabled Smart Scenes and it worked.

Finally the notification issues have been resolved, but I still have problems with my banking. I can do all transactions except pay someone. I guess that's got to do with Google's integrity checks that replaced Safetynet. I did notice that for a while now, when the phone is on my bedside table...

I am in South Africa and have a Mix 4 which had Chinese firmware loaded with Chinese apps, etc. I flashed Xiaomi.eu MIUI and it's working fine. There was a lot of niggles, but it seems to iron itself out.

S Settings, battery, battery optimization settings, then right at the bottom, scenarios. Disable that. Loads of niggles in these ROMs, which mostly seem to just be how they work.

It does now affect some payment functionality I think. Never used to.

I had the same issue, I could not restore, even though I made the backup just prior to formatting.

There is a solution I posted. Disable Smart Scenes. Try that.

My banking app works fine, but gives me a technical error when making payments to other beneficiaries. Not transferring between accounts though. Used to work, all of a sudden doesn't. Even factory reset didn't help. Although it's a schlep, I can use the web interface on my phone.

I see that's actually a very obscure menu. Search settings for Battery, then go into settings by clicking the gear in the top right corner. Scroll down right to the bottom.
