Had to run the ADB commands, but after that everything seems fine on Ishtar for now. Have to use it a bit more first.

Maybe yeah, I have no idea tbh... I simply use fastboot because I find it to be the easiest way for me. This is my first time using this ROM, and Xiaomi all together, but I generally don't wipe anything if there are no major issues with the OS.

Flashed successfully through fastboot on Ishtar 13 Ultra. No app crashes, no issues so far.

I have, sort of, on my Ishtar 13 Ultra. I downloaded version 8.3 from APK mirror, and that works fine. Just don't update it to the newest version from the play store, or it'll crash again.

Oh yeah, that's right. Forgot about that. Only a 14 and 14 ultra, to make the gap between the lower 14 and the highest 14 ultra bigger i read.

Money would be my guess. Not sure about the global pricing for the 14 series, but i bought my 13 Ultra from trading shenzen for around 900€ for the 12GB/256GB variant. That variant was 1500€ here, if I wanted the global version in Belgium. That's a 600€ loss for them on one phone. Pretty sure...

Does it show in the quick settings/notification panel when you swipe down? If so, i think that's intended behavior now, same on my 13 ultra and on a 13t pro which is still running on the official MIUI version.

You're not doing something wrong. Xiaomi changed the rules and basically made it impossible for people outside China to unlock the bootloader. For now, the only option to unlock the bootloader is a paid service as far as i know.

Known issue. Disabling "adjust text and background automatically" setting in dark mode settings fixes it.
