Sometimes benchmarks are only justifying an overall performance of a device, that including gfx tests and everything else. It's possible for a phone with lesser benchmark to feel smoother in general (UI, tasking etc) and still score a lower bench. The Nexus4 for example.

False. Performance mode locks the clock at full 1512MHz frequencies. Take a look at SetCPU or any CPU app and it will show you.

Anyone know how to disable stock sms app from giving notifications? Trying to use a 3rd party app (ChompSMS) but I'm continuously deceiving a double notification from the stock, even though I've switched auto-retrieve to off.

This is true, and not to be fussy but it's a lot of manual altering. I usually always switch to power saving mode, 2G/Data while I'm at work, then switch them back later.
