Just wait and it will be gone after the next check of google play services. As for the other thing: it's not harder than installing twrp for the first time actually. Once you understand how it works, it really isn't hard.

You don't have to clear anything. Just update apk and you're good. Simpler way? No. But if you can root your device using magisk or kernelsu, get a working fingerprint from an old device (the hardest part) and then spoof it using a module, you can forget about updating it every couple of days...

Format is needed when coming from XEU to Kosmosik96 build. When updating to a new version of Kosmosik build, format is not needed. If you want to stay on Kosmosik build you don't have to flash XEU.

You can try, as it was released later than the latest weekly and has a newer security patch, I have hard of successful flashes. If you encounter problems though you will have to restore to factory settings (wipe)

No fix work on this version ever. You need to update to stable. Weekly for star/mars is EOL.
