Is there a recovery.img (/firmware-update/recovery.img) which can be deleted before flashing the rom? I always delete the recovery.img from the rom.zip for my Poco F2 Pro, to keep the chinese 3.4.2b twrp recovery.

Which recovery do you use? - use chinese twrp - delete recovery.img from rom.zip (\firmware-update\recovery.img) - boot to recovery and mount all possible partitions - install rom - clean dalvik/Cache - reboot to system Boot takes a bit longer on MIUI logo (~2min) This works for my F2 Pro.

Sure its possible! Why not? Create a backup, flash latest stable and see if a dirty flash is working. Otherwise clean flash. But why still on 20.5.18?
