It takes a little bit more time, same with older mi phones. i think xiaomi is still working on miui 9 and android 7. calm down, its not a big jump from android 6 to 7. when you use miui you cant see android 7 update most time.

yes raw can take better then automatic mode, but i use most time manual mode for best results.

i have dev rom an can see in stock camera raw support. same in bacon camera and manual camera.

Today, i have a good scene with lowlight and manual mode, iso200 and 1/2sec exposure time. using a junction box to keep my phone still. Downsized 50% and bottom crops 100%.
