I've checked it, Google maps not showing GPS icon and I think not using it untill you try to navigate to somewhere. When you start navigation GPS icon was showed. I think Google Maps use Google Location services untill we start navigation and then use direct location. May be Google Location...

The problem is the GPS icon not showed. But maybe the GPS is working, I'm going to do a test.
