Id suggest the first thing is to flash twrp recovery to it, heres a link to that: https://twrp.me/devices/xiaomiredminote2.html theres installation instructions on that site you'll probably have to use the fastboot install method, you should spend some time researching how to do that properly...

that's the procedure I followed worked fine except all my widgets are no longer available, so I'd give it another few weeks if I were you till they have ironed out the remaining bugs Sent from my MI MAX using Tapatalk

just one widget in the list, I use launcher 8, but I've checked the built-in launcher and the widgets are missing there. If I reinstall an app it reappears but then disappears after rebooting Sent from my MI MAX using Tapatalk

Same here on mimax, reinstalling an app restores the widget then it disappears after rebooting Sent from my MI MAX using Tapatalk
