Sorry for re floating thread, I updated to 7.4.20 after having to wait around three minutes to locate and fix on 7.2.16 and seems it has been solved entirely, getting fixes ~15 secs

Mine is, after 2-3secs it stops ringing for 0.5 secs or so and then continues (mi5pro @ 7.2.16 ROM)

It worked, reception/quickness to lock/accuracy is still worse than my old oneplus 2, however, it's still better than not getting any gps lock. Thanks

Got same version (Pro) and under 7.2.9 xiaomi.eu, factory reset and nothing, doesn't lock at all... getting through kernel test = same result.

I use the same app, not working for me

seems to happen for every mi5 after nougat?

Will check if that helps, it's a mess buit will try, gps in the mi5 is a must...

Being on the last Miui 8 7.2.9 seems to keep the problem of gps, even in the kernel menu, it takes like 3 minutes open air to catch gps signal and lock.
